When experiencing problems, it is sometimes useful to run a file "in the
air".
This means running a file as you normally would, but with no material on the
table to cut.
When troubleshooting a persistent problem that is not cut quality related (Position
errors, Command
errors, Machine
stuttering, etc, it is less wasteful of material to run in the air.
Most of the time, it is acceptable to run the file with no material on the
table.
In a situation where the material must stay on the table, the Z axis origin
can be raised so the file will run above the material. If this is to be done,
please ensure that the new Z origin will not cause the machine to hit the end of
travel. |
