Inverter Settings for Motortronics or Teco inverters
For Spindles up to 10HP
The following settings must be set. All others should be left set to the
factory defaults as indicated in the inverter manual.
Press “Display Func”
You get F000 – this means “Function 0”
Increment using the arrow keys to the appropriate value. Press Enter
Using the up, down, and left/reset arrows, set the value. Press Enter
Repeat for each necessary function
1: 0.9
2: 0.9
3: 0100
5: 18
6: 300 see note 1.
7: 100 see note 2.
10: 1 - start/stop from program.
11: 1 - speed set from potentiometer or ATC speed control
12: 1
17: 100.0
18: 133.0
19: 166.0
20: 200.0 Functions 17 through 23 are for TOOLCHANGER machines only
21: 233.0
22: 266.0
23: 300.0
25: set same as function 6
37: set same as function 6
70: set to motor rated current on motor nameplate for appropriate voltage
note 1: Function 6 is the maximum output frequency this should be
set to the maximum rated frequency of the spindle. This is normally 300 for
18,000 RPM spindles or 400 for 24,000 RPM spindles. Consult spindle
documentation and motor nameplate for maximum frequency.
note 2: Function 7 is the lower output frequency limit. The minimum
for 18,000 RPM and 24,000 RPM spindles is 100 which corresponds to 6000 rpm.
Operating at speeds below this may cause motor overheating and damage to the
motor. Consult spindle documentation and motor nameplate for lower frequency
rating.
note 3: For analog speed control on riser card
Function 11 = 2 Function 26 = 98 Function 28 is approximately 84, plus/minus
2 depending on the computer. (lower #28 makes top speed faster)
